Using the Read feature requires identifying individual glyphs. The glyphs and their categories were all defined in Tokovinine’s catalog. You must first pick a category based on what the glyph looks like (e.g., Affix, Hand, Bird, etc.) and then identify the correct glyph. Since there are 9 categories and over 600 glyphs, each category has many glyphs to look through. There’s a new UI element to only display glyphs with a phonetic definition. This reduces the number of glyphs you must review by 65%. You can choose to see only glyphs with phonetic definitions, only those with logographic definitions or to see all glyphs. This new control is at the bottom of the Read screen, it defaults to only phonetic.

The app uses 628 glyphs from Tokovinine’s catalog, 215 have a phonetic definition and 430 have a logographic definition.
